For the past 6 years or so my horizontal bandsaw had blades with 10-14 teeth per inch. Based on shopping at McMaster and reading the "about" section on blades, I switched to a "thick metal" blade with 4-6 teeth per inch. Big impriovement in the straightness of the cut, especially when I lay the material with the thinnest dimension down and clamp on the larger. The cuts are also faster.
