Thanks for all the kind comments, I'll try and answer the questions

As I said above the build for this one will be going into Model Engineer Magazine with some additional stuff on their forum/website so don't really want to go into too much detail here on the public forum at least.

Finish is just rattle cans and quite a while spent on prep underneath

The drain cocks were cut (manually) from some 5/8" square brass that I had and only the thread for the nut soldered on as there was not room to turn a die, all went well except a bit of distortion of the taper reamer when quenched, see below

Lining was done in acrylic gold paint with a ruling pen, the curves on te fluwheel were simply done by using a french curve to guide the pen.

The brass ball on the top is a cylinder lubricator and would have oiled the piston, its based on ones that I have photos of on full size Tidman engines.

As I have used this small selection of photos on various websites already ther can't be any harm in showing them here which may answer a few queries, then again I expect it will raise a load more ;)

Hi Jason,
 That is cool!
You wouldn't pick that it's a bar stock build. Can't wait to get the M.E to have a read!

Cheers Kerrin

Hi Jason
That is one beautiful engine.
I've designed a similar engine from photos and am in the process of building from aluminium stock.  My design is not as detailed as yours, but looking at your result, you have given me a number of ideas.  So' I've gone back to the drawing board to improve the look of my attempt.  Once again many thanks for sharing such a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
David

Thanks David, If you have any queries about a specific detail ask in your build thread and I'll see if I can help.
