Looking good  :praise2: Not long now   :wine1: I have made my valves from stainless steel bolts as they are already forged to almost the right shape so you don't have to nibble the stem down to size.
Best regards

Roger, using stainless bolts is a good idea. I like it!

The quality of finish on your parts is excellent. Are you using steel or aluminum? The only way I can get finishes that good on aluminum is by rubbing the parts on a sheet of 220 grit sandpaper spread out on the table of my bandsaw after the milling is done!!---Brian

Thank you Brian.
The parts are made out of aluminum. I used extruded bars and the narrow side is not machined, and left raw. I then gave it a bit of a polish with a scotch brite pad. There are still some nicks and scratches left, that I haven't been able to get out yet. Unfortunately the raw material can be in awful shape sometimes, and that wouldn't be an option then.
The other surfaces are machined finish.

Yogi, the parts look great as already noted. I am interested in the tabletop you took the pictures on. Is that in your shop and if so is it only used for photographic purposes? My workbench has so many marks and scars now it looks like a war zone. Keeping a nice clean pristeen top like that just for taking pictures is a great idea in any case...wouldn't even have to be that big in fact.

Thanks Bill,

I just recently bought a new tool cart for the shop. Its a Husky brand and has a solid wood top. I started using it as a photo background, as it was the only clear surface to take a nice picture. My workbench is cluttered with junk and I'm sure nobody wants to see that... Anyway, now that I'm thinking about it, if it gets cluttered like the rest of my workbench space, I might have to look into getting something like that just to take pictures...

Yogi:

That is a timely post. I've been thinking about a stand/table for my Sherline lathe (and maybe mill). This looks like the ticket and soooo much easier than building one. I need the open area below since it'll back up to my horizontal band saw, I need a space to pass through long stock. Might be perfect and I can go to Home Depot and take measurements.

Great work on the bearing blocks. As other noted you got a nice finish on it.

Thanks.

Hugh

Thanks Yogi, I will be looking into this. It would also provide some nice additional storage too in the three drawers
