Thanks for the compliments guys!

Here we have the cylinder sleeve:
Made out of cast iron. I Turned it 0.01mm under size and then lapped to size.

Just before parting off:

I don't think the picture does the surface finish justice. It turned out very smooth. I'll be using a O-ring piston ring, so having a good surface finish is important.

On size...  ;D

Next we have the valves:

Material is 303 stainless. Valve stem diameter is 4mm, head diameter 10mm, and over all length is 38mm.
Turning a long, small diameter can be tricky, as the tool pressure will deflect the workpiece, causing a taper.
To prevent deflection, I turned it down in short section. I turned about 8mm (2xD) long sections at a time. I turned it down all the way to finish size before staring on the next section.
To illustrate, a few pictures:

First short section on size, turning down the second short section:

Second section on size:

Third section:

Third section on size:

Fourth section:

Valve stem on size, with the valve seat roughed out. It turned out very accurate over its entire length without any taper.

Parting off:

Tuned the valve over, and finished the head:

Last operation is a 1.5mm hole drilled for a pin and spring retainer. I'm using a sensitive feed drill chuck for this operation.

Finished valves:

... and the valve bodies are finished.

I didn't take any pictures as I was making them. Sometimes I just get going on a part, and don't think of taking pictures until I'm done.
However, I did take pictures of tapping the M3 holes. I'm using a hand tapper, making nice straight threads, without breaking any taps...     ;)

Really nice work, yogi.  Pardon my ignorance, but is that a spiral tap?  I wish I could get chips out of a hole like that when I tap.

Rudy

Rudy, please ask any question you have...

Yes, I'm using a spiral flute bottoming tap. It is intended as machine tap. Using a tap like that by hand "freehand" would taps oversize, and anything but straight. That's way the hand tapper, that keeps the tap straight. Also, spiral flute taps break easier than a regular taps, but not really a problem hand tapping.
They sure evacuate the chips nicely...

yogi

Up next we have the push rod.

The machining picture is from cutting the square corner slots using a side cutting slitting saw.

...and the finished part...

It might not be the most exiting time of the project, as the bigger, and more complex parts are done, and we move to many smaller parts, that will be needed before we can start assembly.

Stay tuned for more...

yogi
