It is just a beam engine.........however due to people like  Savery, Newcommen Watt  et al taking out long patent restrictions, the progress of steam engine design was very much delayed and other people had to come up with lots of different designs to stop litigation from the large firms.......Hence there is a rich history of sometimes bizarre and wonderfull contraptions made and quickly forgotten, So, lots of different makers produced their own prototypes. Thanks for the interest and comment.......
