Don't waste your money on a live centre  In the small stuff a fixed centre works well and it doesn't get in the way.

I've only got those two  three drill chucks, the two Cowells  supplies plus a cheapy Chinese  chuck with a home made taper fitted.

I think three is to many even for you, I think you should find a new home for the cheapy Chinese one with the home made taper, I am sure some one out there who hasnt got one chuck might be willing to buy it

You forget they fit in the head stock as well as the tail.

I followed your idea Jo and turned a arbor myself & it runs very true & I am pleased,

  That's a big one.

I would look to get yourself a 0 to 4mm drill chuck for the tailstock and a larger 6.35mm one.

I have a larger one on order to fit the arbor I have & will have to sort a 0-4
