So does one casting (excluding the machined gears) comprise a set?  Or is there more we aren't seeing ?  :headscratch:

Bill, have a look at the photo Mike posted at the start of this thread, some people really only needs the one casting others would not even need that.

Jason wants to know how many engines have YOU built in that time?

AHC Diesel, Stuart No9, 5A, & Swan

I'll give you a clue I have brought more sets of castings from him than he has built
Jo

So the answer could be anything upto 999 :LittleDevil: To be fair to Eric there are a lot more parts to complete on that Loco he is doing than a 5min job on an aero engine ;)

I have acquired 17 new sets of castings in the last two years   :naughty:    :pinkelephant:  Correction I have acquired 15 sets of castings in the last two years ::)

Eric has a pair of frames (That I think were laser cut) bolted onto the buffer beams, horn blocks (not sure if they are riveted on  :noidea: ) Axle boxes, Axles, set of eccentrics & sheaves and a water pump. Cylinders are underway, as are wheels. So it is nearly at the stage that stage he sold the other one he started last time when he realised it was too heavy for him ....  :ShakeHead:

Yes one casting is the full set. Originally it came with the bar stock and bearings as a kit which is the one Mike has. But I have a few bits of bar stock lying around  ;) the important bit is that over width gear.

All I have made is more and more swarf and not much to show for it.

Him

Locum Doc yesterday told me a few truths about his consequences: it will probably be 2 years before I stop having problems cause by HIM  :(  And as for the expensive Elephant extraction oil that needs to be rubbed on twice a day :ShakeHead:

Why is it that your own Doc tells you only half the truth  :stickpoke:
