I built this a while ago and have found it very useful for cross drilling shafting directly on center and doing it quickly.
It mounts on my AXA toolpost, and by use of the compound angle protractor, I can set it to any angle I want. Additionally I have a work stop on it for doing repeatative work.
It was written up in Model Engine magazine some time back....issue 12 I think.
Here's some photo's
and a shot of it in use
Because the attachement was made on the lathe that it is used on, the V's were cut with a large countersink with the part mounted on the AXA post, the V is EXACTLY on center...in my case I made two V's , a large one and a small one. All I need to do is flip the attachment over. I also put a whole on the small vee for cross drilling small shafts so that it can be supported from both sides.
