File(r) 13 Case closed
« on: October 05, 2015, 08:26:50 PM »
It's been so long since I've had anything to post in this section, I feel strange :lolb:. The die filer is finished. It will be given to my brother in law as a Christmas gift. He operates an antique clock repair business and when he saw this one at CF two years ago he said. I could use one of those, so, little did he know. Here's a couple of pictures and a short video. Thanks for stopping in.

He will love it Cletus!!! So did you end up using the sherline motor and controller to drive it? That's what it looks like in the pictures. Well done and a beautiful end result!!

Thanks guys. Bill, I did use the Sherline motor and controller.  Worst case scenario,  he'll have a backup for his lathe.  I'm using an o ring from a Caterpillar track hoe cylinder for the drive belt.  I'm glad I didn't crown the drive pulley  :noidea:. Thanks again for stopping by.

That is a beautiful tool Eric!  Anyone would be excited to have a filer like that in their arsenal!
Your brother-in-law will be pleased for sure!
