Midlands Model Engineering Show
« on: October 02, 2015, 07:53:10 AM »
Two weeks to go to the midlands show  :pinkelephant: I was just wondering who else might be going. I will be there on Friday.

Does anyone want to meet up for a coffee and chin wag like last year?

I'm planning on going on Friday.

Jo,  Do you have any more Cowells bits to part with :LittleDevil:.  The collets I had from you last year have worked great. :)

Sorry Colin, Sco now has C1 and all her accessories. I am pleased you found those spare collets useful  :)

I still have C2 sitting in the library ready for use when the weather turns nasty ;)

I have not yet identified any casting sets that I might need to bring home with me from the show, just a few fastners and see if I can find a supplier of eccentric straps for the Stuart triple, so the shopping list is a bit short  :noidea:

Jo,  I knew you had parted company with C1, but it was worth a try. :)

I think I'll be visiting Machine-DRO.  Another set of magnetic scales, this time for Cowells Lathe.  They will be fun to fit.

Just in case anyone hasn't spoken up: My plan is to be sitting in the lunch/seating area near to where they run the traction engines outside just before 12 (so we get a seat) with some spare cakes  :naughty:

We had a lovely day at the show and met at least 8 other forum members.  :whoohoo:

However they failed to eat all the cakes  :( Did I bring too many  I ended up giving them to my favourite traders (you never know when you might be able to wangle a discount  :naughty: ) And still I took some home so I will have to see if they go well with some  :wine1:

Photos to follow when I get chance to reduce their resolution a bit  ;)

Jo,

Good to see you again.  I think I should have come and eaten cake.  It would have been a lot lot cheaper.

Hi all,

Visited the Midlands show for the first time for Thursday and Friday and found it was an extremely good show.

Got to meet Jo and some of her colleagues but didn't notice any cakes.

All round a very good time and gained a lot of useful information plus emptied my wallet a bit with a VFD system for my Myford.

Will certainly try to go to more shows through the year.
