Bill,  I won't be able to due a build as it is mostly completed. After running it in on the lathe with a belt 4 hours compression has come up. See the attached photo.   Ray,  I'm hoping to run it on propane. The ignition is 1/4=32 spark plug mounted in the right side of the intake valve box. For the ignition timer (points) I have put a cam on the crankshaft and a rod going down thru base to a micro switch. TJ
Nothing is as sure as change.

Thanks for the links Jason and what a beautiful engine of Emile's.

Your engine is looking good Tom and I look forward to seeing photos and video of it when complete and running.

I am really encouraged by all the helpful responses I have had so far, so no excuses now (apart from the fact that I am off on holiday for two weeks at the end of this week!)

I found the picture that I had taken of Bob's Otto at the 2007 GEARS show.

Enjoy your race, I don't rush a good thing  ;)

With those is visiting a second orphaned engine: It has been passed from hand to hand and so needs someone to love it, we have agreed it is too bad even for Fleabay

Expensive lunch.

Only when it includes dinner as well  ::)

I may have missed it but I did not see a link to Heinz's site:

http://www.classic-motors.at/modellmotoren/modelengines.htm

I have a completed Otto that I have run at shows on occasion. It is a nice looking engine but it has never been my favorite runner.

Thanks Doug.

The Pound/Euro rate makes that a really good price and it includes the CD 8)

The problem with your visiting castings is they are never allowed to leave. Though I don't think I would allow Otto's buddy anywhere near the kitchen table :ShakeHead: I do have a sack I put all teh swarf and scrap metal in that I could introduce him to ;)
