American Precision Museum - Model Engineering Show 2015
« on: September 02, 2015, 12:33:00 AM »
Anyone attending the 2015 model engineering show at the American Precision Museum?

I'm going up early on Friday for the reception...

I'll be bringing my Quadricycle engine...and all the other goodies.

Where are you staying for this?  Last time I attended I stayed in a hotel in Quichee, it was rather less than inspiring.

Joe...I have not booked a room yet. The past 4 years I have been staying at the Yankee Motel. It is one step up from sleeping on the curb outside but serves its purpose for one night. You literally have to run the shower for 15 minutes before any hot water comes out...what the settlers called "roughing it" I guess.

Not sure where to stay this year.

I plan to be there, including the reception on Friday evening.

I usually stay at a motel in White River Junction. Its just one of the moderate chains, I think its a Motel 8. Nothing fancy, but is clean and has all I need. It is a bit of a pain since its about 12 miles away, but around it are all the common places to eat.

This is a small show, and has been shrinking for the last several years. I know the staff has been looking for ways to enlarge it so I will go to support their efforts. I think they have reduced the vendor costs this year to encourage more vendors. They are now latching onto the 'Maker' term and I wonder what that will bring.

Ron

I'm guessing that will bring more 3D printers than you can shake a spool of ABS at.
The museum is so special, it could attract more people if they would publicize the show at other than just the museum website.
Hitting more forums with an announcement and ads in the few ME publications could help.

Chris and Stan

It was a pleasure to meet both of you, enjoyed our chat, and the chance to see your engines "in person".

See you next year!

Cheers, Joe
