Wanted Copper Tube
« on: June 26, 2015, 06:52:32 AM »
Hi

I have a friend who is building a 71/4" Gauge model of a LMS Crab 2-6-0 Loco and he is trying to obtain a length of copper tube for the boiler 8" to 81/4" OD * 20" in Length with a wall thickness 4mm or 5mm

He has a piece of sheet he could roll into a tube but would like to try and obtain a length of tube to save a bit of work.

Location NW of England

Thanks

Stew

I doubt if you will get a short length of that size or gauge / thickness

But by ek Evan annealed you would need a stout set of rollers , to get it round.

And a humugus lot of heat to silver solder it up

Have you tried black gates  ?

Sorry cannot be more helpful

My aim is for a accurate part with a good finish
