Arguably the best fighter produced in WWII (although not my favorite).
I would not have guessed you could get 20 of them in the same place at the same time.
Very cool.

Thanks

As a kid I modeled WWI and WWII aircraft. Then my friends got into jets. Sorry...just not my bag. Favorites was the Albatross (#1 for me), BF109, and P-40...but there are several others.

Thanks for posting. That was a very enjoyable video to watch . Additionally, the P38 (my favorite) came up on U tube after the P51. Not into airplanes anymore, but was fun to watch.

So I made that mostly P-51Ds, with a handful of -H (lightweights) and a couple of -B or -C models.

Thanks for posting that David. P-51 owners (or any WWII aircraft for that matter) must be a pretty exclusive club but what a rush it must be too, especially getting to show them off like that.

I can put my hands on 2 P51's 2 t-6 trainers and a spitfire most days. They are pure beauty's. There is nothing better than a low flyby of a P51

Not too many Mustangs here in NZ, this is ZK-TAF, representing NZ 2415 of 3 Sq TAF/ RNZAF, this was the Canterbury Squadron of the Territorial Air Force.  The chap in the rear seat is a pilot mate (flies a Piper Cub), his family bought him the flight for his 80th birthday.   Ian S C

I liked how they formed the dot matrix "51" on the way in. Then on the way out it became "IS". Two formations side by side...

The sound is much improved, through headphones. Especially, if you're a bit deaf, like me.  ::)

Well for me it would be this one:

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcWMqQicxT4" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcWMqQicxT4</a>

...because it signified the end of my 22-year involvement in the Harrier programme.

Or possibly this one, flown by a friend of mine:

...or possibly this one, flown by a friend of his (who I'd met, but didn't know that well):

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRfDsSnLtE4" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRfDsSnLtE4</a>

And of course you don't have to fly fast to be impressive - there aren't many fast jets that could fly in THIS formation:

I would have hit the ground too Dave. Did the cameraman have any hair left or did it all  get singed off :)

He was about 20 feet above him. It was his son filming it. I'm sad it's no longer on the field. I miss seeing it flying. But still love the 51's when they fly

Dave.
