Webster - my first IC
« on: January 20, 2015, 07:37:03 PM »
Hello
rather than build log, this is report from past build with some photos.
I build my first IC back in 2005

When I discovered Joe's plans I just had to try it !
made some modification too.
Was a great challange and introduced me in to amazing world of model combustion engines.

Magnificent  :praise2:  :praise2: You look so proud, and rightly so  It looks like you are using a motorbike ignition coil similar to mine?
Best regards

Very nice Perry.... :NotWorthy:

I'm building one too atm.....
Where did you go to obtain your gears? Or did you make yourself?

I originally intended to buy the gears, but at around £40 for the pair, thought about making them....but then the involute cutters I looked at are not available and are about the same price as the gears....
Looks like I might have to read up and make my own cutter...

Hello John
I machined mine - see 2nd and 3rd photo.
I would go for cutters rather than buy expensive gears.

Perry, that engine sounds so smooth.  What coil and points are you using?  Great job on that.  Did you do any mods from original plans?  Interested in making one.
