New guy from Colorado
« on: January 05, 2015, 08:46:36 PM »
The short story goes like this...

I'm mostly new to mill & lathe work, and actually just got a used vertical mill & metal lathe. I've got some full scale antique engines, and am looking forward to progressing my metal working skills to get into model engines.

I'm not new to tools, so I do have a head start there. I have a complete wood shop for my sign work which includes a CNC router table. The CNC router is used mostly for wood, but I do machine aluminum on it from time to time.

So, thanks for having me!
Chris

Welcome to MEM Chris. It sounds like you should fit right in here. Some of us even work with the brown stuff (wood) from time to time as well.

Welcome Chris. If the shop is well heated, it's a great time for modelling in your neck of the woods.  I have a great songwriter friend in Gunnison.  Make yourself at home and jump on in.

Thanks everybody. I had my forum settings wrong, so I didn't realize all these replies were here. I've got that fixed now.

My shop is heated, so there's no excuse there. It'll be a while before I can get to the fun stuff as I'm on crutches for at least another month.

Thanks!
Chris
