I started with the Base. I happened to have a 12" long bit of 55mm brass bar 😏 just lying around so started there it took about 30-40 minutes of expletives and emerged from my lathe came the basic plank profile and a nice 3/8 bsp hole 😁

Very cool Lego!  I have a whistle or 2 around here myself. Fun to build and even more fun watching the kids play with them.
Do not be like the cat who wanted a fish but was afraid to get his paws wet.

Nice project Lego. Looking forward to seeing it come together too.  One thing to keep in mind when posting pictures is that a maximum resolution of 800 x 600 works just fine for the forum and allows those with slower speed connections to view them as well. For some members a 3MB image takes forever to download and the lower resolution also takes much less space on the server without losing image quality.
