Hi David, nice going For the valve I normally just use feeler gauge as in the ones we used to set points with or the tappets .May not be large enough for youre engine. Just make a little punch and block to make the hole a bit like the toolmakers shim punch blocks or trap it between two bits of scrap to drill the hole.Telling me granny how to suck eggs It maybe beneficial to knife edge the back of the flame hole as per poppin it does seem to help.Oh well back to my conundrum Iv dug a hole cheers
Hi David, Another rescue operation, well done! And another interesting "how to fix it".Had a friend who was into clock making who was also in need of a spring like you are hunting for used a feeler gauge, he hunted for a while & found a set that would of been 100 plus mm long....its been some years & hes no longer around. Maybe be worth a lookCheers Kerrin
The lower one was bought for my brand new, 1965 BSA Lightning
Small wonder youre good at fixing the orphans
Now Jo as a twinkle I can handle.
