Mid-East Ohio Model Engineering Exposition 2014
« on: October 08, 2014, 08:20:38 PM »
Who's going!

We are about a week and a half out and I was just wondering who is going to Zanesville this year. I have been going from the first show on and have been watching it get bigger every year. Would be nice to watch that trend continue. I plan to be in the hall around 1:30PM Friday afternoon.

Steve,
I plan to go to Zanesville as I have for the last two years, and I'd like to show this year for the first time.

What do I need to do to exhibit? Just show up on Friday with my engine? I only have the one Stirling engine that I'd like to show.

Tim,
That's all you need, and 10 dollars.

Hello Tim!

Like George said, show up with the engine and plop it down on the table. Give Paul a ten dollar bill for the pin and then stop and say hello.

How about you George, will you be there this year?

Well. I would have gone but didn't even know about it until now. I will absolutely put it on the list for next year.
What's the deal with no compressed air and no steam allowed? I have exactly one engine that I could run.
It seems strange that since, other than hit 'n miss, stirlings and I.C. engines, everything else just sits there.
Best,
Stan

The show was started by DeBolt, a gas engine supplier. I suspect he simply does not want to do the work involved in getting a compressor and air manifold. The year I went I took a couple stem models and no one threw me out, so Im sure its Ok

I want to go again this year, but its just to far- just over 900 miles. I thought I had a couple other places to see, but they turned out to be to far off the path. And now I have tickets to see Arlo Guthrie here in my town opera house on Saturday night.

Thanks, Ron.
Enjoy Arlo. I've seen him a few times.

Like all the other shows , no steam. Guys with steam/air motors bring small compressors.  It's not supplied but not banned.

All loaded up! Will be pulling out about 6:00AM. Heading over to New Springfield for some auto parts and then to Zanesville. Should roll in about 1:30. I sure hope there is some of Mrs. Debolt's chili left when I get there.

Thanks Steve,
It was good to see you and your wife, first of all, and some of the many modeling friends I've made over the years. I think the show has grown a lot over the years, especially from the exhibitor side. Although there were a lot of hit and miss engines the variety of other engines was terrific. I don't think I've seen so many Snow tandems in one place before, five to be exact.
I hope everyone made it home safely. For a small show some of the fellows come from quite a distance to attend.
Now on to the winter projects with an eye on NAMES in April.

Great pictures Steve. Thanks so much for taking the time to take all of them and to post them for those of us that couldn't make the show.
