But as long he doesn't find out we have been peeking ;)

Yes me too Rod. I did think of you when I saw the hardness tester and wondered if it was the same. We got there at 12.30 and were somewhat taken aback too by the crowds milling around the first area - Warco RDG etc were three deep in customers it seemed.  It thinned out considerably after 2.00 though - I certainly found time to empty the wallet ::)

................  Perhaps the pendulum is starting to swing the other way......

It would be nice to thinks so Rod but that list of traders not attending and going over to mail only slowly grows - Re your comment by Rota Grip, Chronos, who no longer attend, offer free postage and are more than a tad cheaper on most things - it seem that it's a decision, once made, makes financial sense.

Thanks for posting pictures Jo,
Looks like it was a good show.  There were sure a lot of nice engines there!
Thanks for sharing those with us.
And thanks for pre-sharing your Christmas present.  But isn't that kinda naughty? And don't naughty girls only get lumps of coal for Christmas?  :LittleDevil:

Picked up this little 60mm x 80mm angle plate at the show - what attracted me was that rather than the usual daggy cast iron affairs it seems to be steel and have very nice finely ground surfaces.  What's weird is one flange is un-drilled so I can't imagine how it would be used?  It has Metron faintly etched in one corner which I've never heard of.

Great pics and looks like everybody had a good time. Jo, saw the Redwing pics and now I'm really getting antsy to start. I'll leave y'all with something I've been thinking about; have you noticed now when you go to a show, what most of "us" want is still left on the table at the end. What a lot of buyers run in and grab (and the sellers know) is stuff most of us have had for a few years. it's that unwanted treasure or missing link that keeps us around and digging. Now, I'll have to say we showed a lot more "mug" shots  from Cabin Fever", but, y'all done good :lolb: :lolb: :lolb: 8)

Simon, the pattern of the slots in that angle remind me of the fixed jaw on a 2 piece milling vice though it would be a flimsy one.

Nice castings Jo, not sure what they are yet, but they do look to be good clean castings!

Jo

Thank you for the photos Jo.

I have an engine which is quite similar to this, which I've never been able to identify. Do you (or anyone else) know what this one is?

Thank you,

Andrew
I went today and missed the crowds of MEM people. That engine had a label saying it was a gas engine, not very helpful. It looks to me like a modified R&B, but I'm not certain.

Thank you for taking the time to look - it's a shame there wasn't more information.

Much appreciated - thank you.
