The Changes Look Good!!
« on: August 01, 2012, 01:30:02 PM »
Gives the whole place an even more familiar look. Someone commented elsewhere that the shoutbox takes up a lot of bandwidth so I will likely turn it off as a default, but otherwise ....thanks for this update. Only request would be to show 10 instead of 5 most recent posts, but not a big issue by any means.

This is very good and also very comfortable.  I like it!  :pinkelephant: I would second Bill's motion for 10 entries in the Recent column but that is a small thing.   It looks like the big things are well handled.

Thanks for the efforts,
Jerry

I like the recent posts on the home pages as well.  Is there anyway to have it appear on all of the pages and not just the home page?  Great job.

If that happens, it had better be something the individual user can turn off.  I want my full display width for the actual post, unhindered by a bunch of sidebars.

That is a good idea.  My monitors are so wide that I didn't think of that.  If the sidebars can't be disabled, then just the home pages is great.

Is there a way a person can choose in their profile not to have all that stuff on the left side of the page?  I know some
folks like it.  I find it a mess with five different fluff boxes on the side, now crowding the forum topics toward the right.
I know a person can click all the minimize buttons for those boxes, but the still takes up a fourth of the page even when
they have been closed.  Honestly, we already have a search function at the top of the page, and all the rest of that
stuff is just foo-foo.

Ade, thanks much for that.  It worked!  It also seems to stay that way after a few log-ons.  At least, it does
for my browser, which logs me on automatically each time I hit the forum bookmark on my computer.

I'm with you 100% there, I'm about tempted to give up on HSM because of that. the post part of the
screen just get smaller and smaller every time a change happens on almost every board.  This is
just right the way it is now. :-)

So you don't see the Shoutbox?    :o
But I leave nuggets of gold there.   :disappointed:
Well I leave something there anyway.
