Advanced Grinding Rest (Harold Hall)

As I said before, the only things left were a bunch of small turned items.  I decided to just power through these and not take a lot of pictures, since they were a lot of repetition of what's already been done.  So, here's a picture of all the little parts I've made over the last couple of shop sessions:


I got started putting it all together and realized I hadn't completed the slits in the bearings.  So, a quick trip to the mill, and this was done.



Then I assembled the jig.  Here it is completed and ready for battle:




Now I have to figure out how to use the thing!

Wow Kim you have been busy!

Lots of nice parts added to your grinding fixture; before too long you are going to be looking for another project to dive into.

Hi Kim, that's looking very nice. To keep it like that, some black burnish may be will help. Waiting for the result of your first trials.

I've thought about using some blackening on the jig, but I've kinda decided to leave it bare, as is.  If I end up having a rust issue, I may change my mind.  But at this point, I'm ready for a different project!
