Oil cap for a Taiwanese Lathe
« on: July 31, 2012, 10:19:04 AM »
Proberbly not origional, but my 1324BH lathe had 10 mm dia rubber bungs for the oil holes for the bearings in the head, some where about the time I got my lathe, the toothpaste manufacturers came out with flip top caps on the tubes of toothpaste.  I took a bit of scrap steel, and cut a thread to match the thread on the tube, drilled a 8 mm hole through, and the bit below the thread I took down to 10 mm dia x about 15 mm long, screw the cap on, and put in the oil hole, no chance of dropping the rubber bung.  Sorry no photo.  Ian S C
