African Queen
« on: August 01, 2014, 07:14:56 PM »
Hi, here are a few photos of my recently completed African Queen, She is powered by a Maccsteam 3.5 inch boiler, feeding a TVR1A BB D/A twin with Hackworth valve gear, and built on a GRP hull in oak, beech and mahogany, with brass being used for internal ribs rudder and knees (deck supports) No ply was used antwhere. There is an onboard sound system (yet to be hidden in a crate) that plays sound clips of Charlie and Rose, she sails well, a little ballast may be needed in the stern but otherwise go's well.

Lovely.  She looks even better on the water, though I think "Ken" needs soaking in a lot more gin to bring off the Bogey look.

Thanks for sharing,

Rod

Nice work on making that so realistic Nick both in the weathering and all those little extra's.

It really cuts the biscuit on the water too

Lovely work.  I had to look several times to determine if it was really a model or the full sized thing!

It's that case of gin that puts it over the top.
