Those look great!! The engine is smaller that I remembered or imagined though but still to scale for the steam launch. One question...it looks like you were turning the steam valve more than 180 degrees to go from fast to slow speed....will a servo allow you that much movement of the valve or do you have another plan up your sleeve :)

Well spotted Bill ,infact the valv :thinking:e does not have to move that far to gain full power so a standard servo should be fine.
Roger I still have to build the water tank might be a week or so I think.

Another old trick is to attach a pulley to a servo disk and then connect it to the <thing to be driven> with a belt drive. You can then "gear-up" the servo output by simply using a smaller pulley at the steam valve end. If you want it to look "pretty" use sprockets and a small chain rather than belt & pulleys.

Not too sure about the description of a caged beast but I hope the engine has the power.

After a failed first visit to the pond this is the second effort. Then I noticed that I had ran out of gas :hammerbash:
Showing a little more potential at least hope a few tweeks will give me the performance I am looking for.

Looks a picture 'Steamup'  - surprising how small those boilers look once placed inside the hull doesn't it  :D

That's a lovely looking 'water' you have there - whereabouts are you ?

Very nice Steamup!  You guys are going to force me to have a go at a steam launch one of these days.
