Looking good  :)

Not long now...  :naughty:

Then you will have to start thinking about what you are going to build next  :naughty:

And a little more -

Bedplate with feed and air pump now complete-

And cladding now blued (a very fragrant job to help pass the Easter holiday...)

Next job is to drop the crank in I think...

The bluing turned out nice and even based on the pictures. Any details on the "fragrant" process you used?

Wow, It is so humbling to go through a thread like this to see the level of craftsmanship and skill involved. I enjoyed going through it from the beginning this morning.

Beautiful work and the finishes and paintwork are outstanding. I have a question regarding one of the pictures showing some brass and steel in a card box with a dark sand? What is the purpose?

Thanks again everyone

Here's the blue I used - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Birchwood-Casey-Liquid-Gun-Blue/dp/B000KKELM8

It gives a very nice deep colour, but the trick is to get even coverage, as just applying the blue as instructed leaves patterns in the direction of application, so i kept working in different patterns and it evened out nicely.

Mike, if you mean the picture I think, they're the components for the pressure relief valves, and laying on really coarse corrugated foam - we get supplied with encoder magnets in these boxes, and they're perfect for engine components when they're empty.

And the cladding now fitted, and crankshaft in - just loving the look of this more and more :)

And the condenser and pumps now on  :naughty:

Tonight it's time to add some temporary feet, and then i think we're about ready to trial fit the cylinder - happy days!!

Amazing work, and everything is beautifully finished. What sort of paint are you using?
