Thanks Stan, great light, and my road will now become (Lilliputionally) lit. But, a great light. Hugh.

A friend came over when I got the Bridgeport. He said "nice drill press"

Well...
In this one thread we have seen you drill a hole with it as well as turn a part with it. So, is that Bridgeport a lathe or a drill press?

I've been without a lathe for a week. Withdrawal. I've reverted to three years ago when I started to learn machining. Just had a mill; no lathe. I built my first engine with the mill so this is déjà vu. Today is lathe delivery day.

As everyone says, a nice quick project.
I like the use of the telescoping tube. Didn't know you could get it. worth filing the idea away for future use.

when it's up and running , perhaps a photoshoped picture of Zee in his tutu under it? ... for that true Lily Marlene look? :Jester:

yours in fun

I believe that Zee charges a royalty for any appearance in the tutu.

I've always preferred Vera Lynn's version (1939) to Dietrich's anyway.

Ach, Himmel, nein, nein, nein.  An Englishwoman singing Lili Marlene!  It's a sacrilege.

To truly appreciate that wonderful piece of music it must be sung by a sultry woman with a raspy voice in German, the seductive language of love and poetry.  [Well, ok, maybe that last is a bit OTT, German being more the language of command than love.]

OK. I'll agree in the original German. But, there's just something wrong with Dietrich doing this:

Agree.
As for the last part...you can replace the 'German' with any language or none...and it still works.  :naughty:

I believe that Zee charges a royalty for any appearance in the tutu.

Not necessarily 'any'. It's the audience that sets the price. For (nearly all) you guys...you can't afford it. Free for a special lady we all know. Maybe even free for Marv...so long as there's video to document his reaction...whatever that might be.  ;D

Sorry to trash your thread Stan...but my name was invoked.  ;D

I was wondering what was that "Schlitten" she was singing about. So I found this:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlitten

I think I first heard that word in a late night interview with Danny DeVito, who said he had to ride the "Schlitten" down a ski slope. I found a reference to it, and him:

When't that lathe coming?!

As for the deity thing...I'm working on it. My specialty will be smart lightening bolts.
