A BOX FOR MY (VDH) VERSATILE DIVIDING HEAD
« on: April 17, 2014, 04:49:29 PM »
This box has been in the making since I built the VDH. Some of you had wanted to see a box so here it is.
Some of the photos go back to last year, but anyway the box is complete. I am not that great with wood although my younger brother is the wood worker in the family. But like anything else I try to do my best at it.
I show the process of cutting the box joints and just the laying out of the components for a trial fit.
I have a flocking set, but I thought about it a lot and decided not to flock the box. The main reason was that the tools would have oil on them and that would ruin the flocking. If anyone has had any experience with the flocking I would like to here from you as to how it holds up?
Anyway guys I hope you enjoy the photos.

Regards Don

Cheers,

Procrastination is nearly the same, but it precludes machining.

Nice job Don, I'm not a fan of working with the brown stuff either but sometimes you just have to.

Great box Don.  Now you won't have the heart to take the VDH out of the box.
