Hello
My name is Jim, I have been building model gas engines for over thirty years. At last count I have built
27 model gas engines and 6 model corn sheller's and several pumpjacks and water pumps, a bunch of hot air and st.eam engines, a model log saw, cement mixer and probably a few things I have that I have forgot.
I used to sell casting kits under the name Blackberrymodels but sold that off a few years ago. I made a lot of friends all over the world while in the business, but it was time to move on.
If I can be of help to anyone get in touch with me. I'm looking forward to this site and making new friends.
Thanks
Jim

Nice looking engines, Jim!  :praise2:  I'm fairly new to the site and I'm just getting interested in model engines (or, more accurately, small working engines of unique design). I'm more of an electronics guy  :zap:  but I'm finding I enjoy machining and mechanical design, so this is a perfect showcase for skills and goofs and sharing experience. Whereabouts are you located?

Hi
Thanks for the compliments on the trailer, it was new last year. I had a smaller trailer, and set up a canopy in front of it. I have two friends that set up with me and they would move there models in my trailer to store at night. It got to be more work every year, so I took the plunge and got ther trailer you see now. It works great and now we just close it up and go home for the day. This one has a work bench and shelf's up front . The counter go down both sides and across the back, and can all be removed so I can haul my 29 model a or gulf cart in it. It has 5000lb axels and it weights 5600 pounds empty. Here's a picture of the old trailer.
I live in Leland Illinois, that's about 12 miles from Sandwich Ill. were the Sandwich Gas Engines are from.

Great set up Jim.  If you ever get out to the shows on the east coast give us a heads up.

Cheers,

Hi Fella's
Here's some more pictures, I didn't build all the models pictured. I came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to have the time to build them all, so I have been buying a few when they pop up for sale. I have also sold a few over the years to add more equipment for my shop. It's all fun!
I also have a few full size engines in my collection.

Hi
Thanks for the compliments, It's taken a lot of years to get here. When I get a chance I well take some pictures of my shop. Got to clean it up first!
here's the latest model I have gotten. It's a Holt it is going to take some time to complete it and get it running. Maybe I can do a post while I work on it.
