Did you mention they were going to be displayed on the MEM stand?

How about a part built bar stock engine as well :naughty:

Yes I did

I may add it as another entry if I make any more progress but with you reminding me its only about 10 weeks away and the need to complete the Monitor I may be a bit pushed. Though I may give you a Private viewing if you are a good girl ;)

Are you going to the meeting tomorrow?

Part built engines are good for newbies especially as its a barstock engine. But I wouldn't want to admit to its designer .. just yet  ;)

Hi Guys - it's good to see the enthusiasm building ;)

Jo I missed your post on the 17th but did you get my emails in response to yours on the backdrops?

Just to update everyone - as of this point in time I still have no idea how many tables we will be allotted.

Brian did say in his first contact he thought he could give us three, possibly four - I asked for four as at that point I was under the assumption that he would allot said tables and then leave us to get on with it. I can see now though that he has a need to establish each individual item for insurance/security purposes so now I'm assuming he will allow sufficient table space to cater for what is entered under the MEM 'banner'

At this point we have two new additions to the previous participants list....

Chris Collinson
Alan Daines

Chris will be bringing some of the engines he recently brought when he visited me and intends to run them on air
I'm not sure what Alan is entering but he intends to be there for the two days. I shall be bringing my Double Diagonal which I'd like to run and the IC engines built so far.

Jo - Jason - can you tell us what arrangements if any are usually in place for overnight security of exhibits?

Rod - looking forward to seeing that  side valve

Regards for now - Ramon

All the exhibits are wired to alarm systems, I think there is a note in the paperwork which says you need to provide a means to pass the wire through. There is overnight security, not sure if its a firm or a couple of members who stay on site, Jo should be able to confirm.

Models are also booked in as they arrive and you can't remove them without booking them out with your receipt.

Thanks Jason - yes I did read that about the wire - will make things interesting for the IC engines  :-\ it was the overnight bit that I didn't notice anything. I think I shall remove the I/C engines then as there is no way a wire can be passed through them.

Ramon something like a split ring that you find on a key ring fitted to one of the mounting holes would allow the plug on the end of the wire to pass. A tab with a large hole in it could be held to a mounting hole with bolt and nylock nut. Or a lot of people put the aero engines on a simple stand with the wire passing between engine and stand.

Yes I did see the reply

The insurance company requires that we pay a  :o vast sum for professional security guard from an approved company for both Friday and Saturday night.

There is a free BBQ for all exhibitors Saturday night. Me: I am normally knackered but I might be tempted by the right company :embarassed:

It's the thought of scraping that beaded finish that dismissed the idea of a split ring Jason - as an old control line friend was wont to say - 'I'll have to give this some serious thought' ;)

Jo - that's good news about the security but what do you mean - 'the right company'? - what better company could you be with  ;)

Maybe something like this with the pegs long enough to give a decent gap under the engine.

I would like to make up a display board of the stages of building a model engine for the show. So I was thinking to make up a board of: "we start with this" (Jo's Sealion castings  :naughty:), "we machine it" (Some of Jo's Seal bits  :mischief:) and it ends up like "this" (completed four cylinder engine.. ideally that runs  8)).

So I am looking for someone who would be willing to display a completed multicylinder engine, ideally a seal/sealion or Seal major at the show as that would look like the other two I have :).

I would be happy to lend the 2x6 foot MEM banner that we had at Cabin Fever.
Let me know. Steamer not included in this offer
Best,
Stan

Hi Stan, That's a very kind gesture but unless we are getting a visit from your side that would involve mailing and the possibility of loss in the system. If someone was bringing it of course that would be different - we'll definitely take you up on it  ;)

Jo has the facility to get large posters done and hopefully one of them will be of the forum logo as yours though not quite so large.

Shame Steamer can't make it - I owe him a pint or three  :)
