And the valve length?

If you want to see the data that goes into my simulation, take a look at http://smfr.org/sim/joys-valve-linkage/scripts/simulation-parameters.js (scroll down to "HistoricModelsParameters").

OK, http://smfr.org/sim/joys-valve-linkage/ should be able to accurately simulate the "Historic Models" measurements now. Maybe someone who understands valve timing better than me can tell us how it's different from the original plans  ;D

I'd also welcome feedback on that page; does it work for you? Is there other data you'd like to see? Is it just really confusing?

I now have the ME issues at home to compare.

The slide valve link's length in ME (pg. 321) shows as 6-7/8", while the Heritage drawing has it as 7-1/8".  I don't think this matters as the difference can be adjusted via the valve itself.

The lower valve gear link link (figure 15, p. 320) is slightly different on the Heritage drawing.  The distance between the outer pins is still 2.25", but the inner pin distance is .77" vs. .75".

Radius rod (p.321, fig. 7) shows 5-1/8" length, while Heritage drawing has 5.25".  Another major different is that the anchored end of the radius rod is show by Muncaster as 1-3/16" below the centerline of the conrod at dead center.  Heritage has this as 1.888".  The horizontal distance between the anchored end of the radius rod and the centerline of the crank is 10.129" vs. Muncaster's 10.5".

The conrod is different, in that the hole in the center is 4" from the piston rod bearing rather than Muncaster's 3.5" (p. 274, fig. 12).

Let me know if this helps.
