Improved Greene Engine Automatic Cut-Off Engine

Dear Lady and Gentlemen,
a friend of mine is starting a model build of the above mentioned engine. We know that there is a youtube video of an already build in the Net available.
Also some videos of the engine, operated in the museum are well known.
Does anybody have some more information about this engine, either to a modell or also to the original ?
We would appreciate every help to any documentation anywhere in the net or may be also printed ones.
Thanks for giving any help.
Kind Regards
Achim

I have seen this engine.   Though I didn't get a chance to run it.

Seems like a great project!.

Achim,
The engine video was taken at last year's NAMES show. If the builder brings it again this year, a few of us will be seeing this model in about a month.

At the very least, I can promise to get you the name of the builder if he is there.

Hi Tim, that is great. Thank you very much for your help. If I know who is the Modell engineer, may be I can get in contact with him than and ask if he has s some pictures from the "making of" stage. That is a new spoor, thanks again.

There is a full size Greene engine at the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association museum at Kent CT. It is run under steam at our Spring and Fall festivals. It can be inspected and photographed when the museum is open from May thru October.

Hi Hugh, thank you very much for this information. I have had a look at the website. Would be fine to see this engine running there. Unfortunately the distance from my home to that place will be around 6.500 km or 4.000 miles, this is something what I don`t get managed at the moment.

Achim,

I promised I would look into this at the NAMES show. The engine seen in the video was displayed at the Historic Models and Reproductions, L.L.C. booth. This is the same fellow who provides castings for the Joy valve engine based on the same Muncaster drawings as Simon's (smfr).

http://www.historicmodelsandreproductions.com

You will not see this Greene engine on the website yet, as he (Dennis Howe) still wants to make small changes to the design before he offers it.

I told him about your interest and he told me he would love to hear from you (or anyone else interested in the engine).  His email address should be at the website.

He told me he will be offering castings but will also be selling the drawings alone. He said the drawings consist of 90 pages of 11 inch by 17 inch sheets.

A great guy to talk to.

Hi Tim, these are very good news. Thank you very much for your efforts. I have sent my fellow Peter already the information. The Walking Beam Engine from Dennis is also something fascinating, what is in my head since I have seen  it the first time. Glad to be a member of this forum.

I saw this engine running at NAMES, and it's very fine.  Dennis' drawings are first rate.  I picked up the castings for the Joy's valve engine at the show having purchased the drawings first.

I also visited the Henry Ford museum this weekend where there was an example of a Greene engine.
