I have just been lent one of the most amazing plan books for model engines I have ever seen , in English its title is: " The Italian self construction engines till 1960 Plan Book".

The author Giacomo Mauro  has put together a wonderful collection of small aero engines each has a historical description of it in both Italian and English and their drawings in metric  :naughty:.

I fear that this was one of a limited run of books as it is copy number 30 :'( Can anyone put me in contact with Giacomo Mauro to see if I can acquire a copy of my own.

Ahemmm! I think you better join the queue Jo  - I think you might find it a rather long one

I was shown some of the content last week by you know who ;)

Your Italian thread title has preempted my own by about a day - I'm not looking for the book but am about to start on one of those Italian beauties inside  :D

Good luck with your search - aero engines next? Really, will this girl ever stop  :Jester:

Regards - Ramon

:naughty: Yes but I have the whole book to read (and I can read Italian ;)).

I would however like to Giacomo Mauro about its copyright status. There is nothing in/on the book :o and it is an absolute gold mine .

Who needs to read Italian Jo - as (visually), like the pictures the plans are 'in English'  ;)

Be very careful - they can be very infectious little devils  :mischief:

I fear you may be distracting Ramon too much Jo, we have not seen any progress on that other italian Beauty for a couple of days. Though I suppose it has been quite nice weather for sailing so maybe not :LittleDevil:

Ah Jo - now that is the way to awaken a man's desires  :naughty:

As you say, some nice subjects there if not all of them - which one(s) have you got ideas for then ;)

Jason - Sailings only on Saturdays - boat maintenance unfortunately isn't but the 'Ato''s 'ticking along' nicely though somewhat affected by the current  'garden and 'outside duties' weather'. ::)  Boiler's on hold till next week too  :disappointed:

:embarassed: You know I always find model engines desirable and some of these can only be described as Sexy  :whoohoo:

But once again I am trying to display a bit of self control (luckily there are not many castings involved  ;) )  and I think I should take advice from Eric Prima mi innamoro di nuovo as I fear my machining skills are not up to the standards required for these little beauties.

The biggest problem will be having to give the book back...at some point :naughty:
