Shaft seals, need source
« on: February 02, 2014, 12:44:49 AM »
Hello!

I am looking for a source for shaft seals in 1/4 and 3/8 inch. I used to get them from WM Berg but they have implemented a $200 minimum order on there online orders and I dont want 50 of them. I use them as crankshaft seals. Anybody know of a source that will allow just a pair to be ordered?

Thanks

Doc beat me to it Steve, but IIRC McMaster is where I got the ones for the Briggs engine. You might also check the Timken website. I may have gotten them there instead since I know they were Timken seals. Somewhere I still have the original paperwork and if I can finf it I will update this post. I am not sure what if any minimum Timken has though but if I did get them there, it wasn't an issue at the time.

Says "not for use with oil" so I kept looking. The 3/8 will work anyway.

I stumbled upon that site but found it impossible to find out what they have available.
