Hi from Northern Ontario
« on: January 13, 2014, 03:02:31 AM »
Hi there, Bryan here. Been a home machinist since the mid 90's when I bought a Taig lathe from Lee Vally tools to build canons for my ship building hobby. Didn't far too well, as I didn't have the foggiest of what to do. I did produce a nice canon though.
Then I found some cool magazines and that led me to the internet...and here I am. Now I still have the Taig lathe, but added a Sherline 2000 mill and a Sherline 4400 lathe. My Taig does get a lot of use still too, as turned it into a bit of a paying hobby making aircraft tools. I am also in the middle of a twin horizontal steam engine from castings and just picked up a twin vertical casting set off EBay. When I get them finished, I'll post some pics and vids. Unfortunately, I forget my camera when I am working, so I don't have a lot of building pics.
Oh, and invested in a 3D printer last year also.
Cheers.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Gmac, well, it's been cold here in Superior country. I live 2hours east of Thunder Bay, on the lake. The temps have been very cold, -30's Celsius. What part of BC are you from?
