Nicely done Frazer!  :praise2:

The usual crisp workmanship. But, how it manages to run, is a bit of magic to me.......  :headscratch:

Many thanks gentlemen,
After a very quick trip to the bling fairies I'm now calling this little toy finished
What would I do differently or modify.
I keep thinking of using glass tubing for the bearing in the displacer and using graphite for the displacer shaft??????? just not sure any one tried this???????
Found no problems with or using the drawings as I cannot read German they must be very good and must say they were a pleasure to use and cannot praise them high enough.
Back onto the boat builds that is unless I get side tracked again as if :insane:
kind regards
frazer

Just been through this build and it's one nice little motor    ...

Vaguely contemplating having a go at it myself as the book appears to be available ..

Quick question, what size is the test tube?

I ask because I've just acquired a box of 50  24mm x 150mm Borosilicate test tubes ...  :cartwheel: at no charge as they were destined for the bin ..

Which is the real reason I've been looking ...  :embarassed:

Hi Dave, The books well worth the pennies as there's two designs and the drawings are bang on.
The test tube recommended is 15.5 mm O/D   13.2 I/D. I bought them from Cromwell tools . They are also the right size for the Stirling 60 and Jans Thermo pulse
The size you have would be good for Dave's Stirling engine if my memory serves me right.I liked Daves engine its the one with the contra rotating flywheels another good build.Although I made a mess of the gears  and will make some new ones  :pinkelephant:oneday
I have also fancy the book 4 as I think there's a wobbler Stirling I fancy.
Just wish I could read the text .That maybe a new years resolution :Jester:
Good luck
cheers

Just had a look at Cromwell's site, no 15.5 mm but 16mm are there. Same thing ??

What's 'Dave's Stirling' ?? Dave Stilldrillin ??  Don't know what that one is ??

Book on order  ... £9 quid odd ....  :cussing:  what happened to Austerity then ?????

Thanks Frazer ....

I'm going to wait for the book and use it as a guide to alter the thing to suit the 24mm tubes. The idea is to just keep the stroke the same and change the power cylinder bore to keep the volume ratio the same. Errr .. I think.

We'll see when the book arrives if it's feasible. ( the non-Ringbom version !)

Nah marra not enough Dave's knocking about
Dave ,If its of any help
Power cylinder 12mm bore and a 5mm crank through
Displacer same ish stroke I think it may work out as 10 mm and is 11.9mm dia 34mm long
Just not sure if the linkage is having any effect on the displacer stroke.
Good luck
