Help identify toy steamer model
« on: April 22, 2023, 03:33:45 AM »
A buddy found this in an antique shop and he would like to know what it is. The post card looks like a painting of what the model was patterned after. The town name on the address side is North Central Iowa USA.

Looks like a compound with the HP stacked above the LP hence the tall ctlinder & 3 shaft engine which would suggest it is based ona Burrell single crank compound (SCC) or "Devonshire"

What dies the ring on the smokebox door say as that usually carries the makers name.

What sort of size is it as there were 3/4" to the foot castings available at one time

Thankyou Jason, I have yet to see it, was to go there right now but something came up. I think it is a around 2 foot long .
But this is basically what I told him. From an English casting kit.

Hey,
I recognize the town on the postmark. London WI. It's just north of Cambridge on county hwy O, have a friend who lives there. Don't think they have a post office but may have in 1962.

Thankyou At, I wondered if anyone recognize that. I thought it was cool to see the postcard.
