Hi people
Just joined this forum. A member here invited me to have a look here and as soon as I saw some of the names here decided that I must join. I could recognise most of the users.
Still I am going to introduce myself as there may be members who do not know me from the other forum (HMEM).
My name is Vince Cutajar and will be 55 next month. I live on the small island of Malta (that small dot on the map in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea). I am relatively new to metal machining; about 5 or 6 years and am self-taught (no formal training). I have a couple of major barstock builds under my belt (not engines) and last November decided that I wanted to build an engine. Eventually I decided on the Kiwi Mkll which is a casting kit from Hemingway's. I decided to go for a casting because I stupidly thought it would be easier.
Well the main engine is complete and at the moment working on the ignition mechanism. Then the carb and external lube reservoir would be remaining.
I work in the aviation industry with our national carrier (AirMalta) and this being summertime it is our busiest time of the year.
I will be mostly following some of the builds that had started on the other site and have been transferred here. Personally I will be continuing my Kiwi build on the other side to make it a complete build log.
