"Walking" Beam ??

I'm afraid my grandfather was complicit in making Eureka less relevant. He was an engineer with Roebling Brothers during the construction of 'The Bridge'.

It seems likely that the family may have ridden her though, I'll have to ask my dad about it.

All the ferries pictured on the following page seem to have the characteristic walking beam.
