I've got it running

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im9BVRQ6VJY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im9BVRQ6VJY</a>

Its a bit noisy but that will tune out bits are catching or have an headache but nothing that a bitter of fitting can't sort.

Its on a test base at the moment I want to fit it to a tile effect base,

I'm also going to make valve for it.

Hi Stew, nice first run. I am sure you will get it into a smooth movement by some fine tuning.
Kind Regards
Achim

Like Dave, if possible, could you tell us how you made the tiled effect base.

Thanks

I cribbed the tiling method from Jason he used it to make the base for his Benson engine.

Basically what you do is paint a lump of high density chip board with the base colour in my case this was white, then you cover the whole lot with frog masking tape then you simply mark it out and remove the bit of tape where you want it to be black, you then spray the whole lot black let it dry and then pick off the bits of tape to give the black and white tile effect.

This was my first attempt ended up with an orange peal finish to the black coat as I used spray cans from two different manufactures, my second attempt was much better using cans from the same supplier

Hope this helps

Stew

Well I've got it finished, struggled a bit with the wooden base, when it comes to woodwork I'm no Chippendale

 (I don't do exotic dancing either  :D)

Hi Stew that is a very nice engine. I like this kind of steering and the motion, specially if it runs very  slowly.
Kind Regards
Achim
