Test and tune day today....rough but fast track with some big air!    Truck is on rails...as it 1/8 buggy.     Race is next weekend.

Truck may be coming to an end .....he's really got no competition...not much fun in that.

We'll evaluate after the JC....I may rebuild her one last time and hang her up.

Dave

I took vid if anyone wants to see. it.....but you've all seen it before.
....but I'll post it if someone asks

After the venture into model aviation the lad might want to take up drone racing, that seems to be getting quite a big thing.

Plane update

OK we took it too the park...made sure that any victims targets pedestrians were at least 300 feet away....and we did some flights!     straight line for the first two, and then circles.....it went really well!    With Circles, he was using a technique called "bank and yank"   ailerons and stabilizer only.    Glad he read up...No one died...so it was successful!

Bikl

A couple of rough landings, but nothing a little hot melt glue can't fix...

He lengthened the control horns on the alierons, to reduce the roll rate...it was about 3 time too much throw as recommended, and the radio doesn't have End Point Adjustment on the channels.. EPA....so you get what you get!...which was a lot!!!

Of course, all this chat of excitement with radio controlled model aeroplanes wants to make me add it to my list of hobbies.

Must resist!

Forging ahead regardless.

I'm assuming you know of the field in Lancaster?   http://www.qmfc.org/new/index.html

I've also seen people flying RC cars just off rt 2 in Concord, on the right about 1/2 mile before the Concord Rotary (when heading eastbound)

When you look back at the beginnings of this thread....it's really hard to imagine me sending this letter out last week....to our Team manager and Crew Chief for his National Champion Son
Gord and Ty Tessimann.

Hi Gord,

I know your schedule is probably completely booked, but I wanted to reach out and ask if you and Ty would be interested in coming to RC Excitement for the Fall JConcepts Indoor National Series in Fitchburg Massachusetts.
It's our home track, and Xray has made significant inroads with the RC community here.  William and I would be honored..   Can't hurt to ask right?

RC Excitement is a Low to Medium bite clay track with full facilities.

Regards,

David and William Piper

Wow!    Now that was a journey....even if they say no!...
