starting scotch boxer steam engine project

Hi, I am starting to fabricate a variation of the double scotch yoke steam engine. I plan to use one scotch yoke to drive the pistons. The pistons will trigger bash valves in each cylinder. It will have uniflow exhaust ports on each cylinder. I am increasing the size a small amount hoping  for a power output between 0.5 and 1.0 HP.  It will be used to drive a permanent magnet alternator to generate electricity. Project goal is 15 amps at 12 volts. I have already fabricated and tested a mono tube boiler.

I am trying to keep the build as simple as possible. 1 by 3 inch brass pipes will be used for the cylinders. I will post photo's when available.
Searching for simple bash valve design, any help is greatly appreciated.

Greeting, I ordered a new low cost mill vise and it arrived with a stripprd bolt that secures the swivle if the vise. Searching for source to order from online. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As for your tee bolt: as a starting point, do you have it's size?

Surely, whatever part of the world Burnit is from his (or her) first point of call should be the supplier he (or she) ordered the vice from since it apparently arrived with the bolt stripped.

Hi, my location is up state NY USA. The bolt size is M8 1.25. I sent the ebay seller a request but it may be faster if I can just buy a few extras on my own. I feel like a big kid on christmas that receives a toy but does not have any batteries to operate it.

I did manage to find a temporary substitute. I started to cut and square the pieces needed to use 1 inch brass pipes for the cylinders. I also found some teflon o'ring that I can use as piston rings.

Hi, I had to order some R8 collets and short drill bits. I am still waiting for them to arrive. In the mean time I wondering about paint. I plan to use the engine with a boiler, is there special paint that is used for steam engines to prevent rust?

Hi, I completed the the cam and crank. I have to fabricate one more scotch yoke then I can start on the pistons. Not much to look at but I am starting to think it will work.

High temperature paint for use on car engine blocks is certainly available, although the colour range is somewhat limited. But spray cans are always that way.
