Sandown 2013

I have just been notified that the 2013 Model Engineering Exhibition is going to be held at Sandown Racecourse 13th to 15th December 2013.

It is not a bad show if anyone is planning a trip to the UK

I see that the floor layout for the Sandown show has been published.  Looks like the show has shrunk again.

Last year the club stands were downstairs: This year they are not using downstairs  .

So how is it likely to compare to the Midlands exhibition this year - bigger or smaller?

  Smaller. They have lost the entire downstairs.

They were trying to get me to put my S&P in but it looks like it won't be finished so maybe next year.

Probably skip this one then - would be nice to see the S&P in the flesh when it's finished though.

They seem to be making a big fuss about something called the "Makers Show"  Looks to me more that they are looking to have some 3D printing stuff on show.

The traders list is as also shorter: no Blackgates or Polly this year  .

Jo have you got a link to the floor plans, can't see it on teh exhibition site or ME.

PS Blackgates have not attended Sandown for at least the last 5 yrs, maybe you are thinking of Ally Pally.

The floor plans are in the december MEW showing where our club stand is. I was sure there was at least one other model engineering trader as well as Andy who used to have a stand by the window 

And no I was not counting Alan 'cause I can see him anytime I desire and he does traction engines  .

I only looked in ME. Though to be fair I don't think they  used upstairs last year, the area on the up there is probably about the same as the basement was last year so all in all about the same total floor area.
