Hello from Brazil
« on: September 19, 2013, 03:16:58 AM »
Hello Guys,

I'm Alexandre, today I live in Fortaleza/CE, in northeast of Brazil, but I was born in Porto Alegre/RS, in extreme southern of Brazil.

Some pictures of Porto Alegre city, my hometown and Fortaleza city, where I living now.

I work as system analyst to develop business applications to enterprises and when young I studied automotive mechanics.

I like to RC Cars, draw with Solidworks and play drums. My workshop isn't complete yet, but will soon be. I have some tools and a Sherline Lathe, soon I will buy a mill too. Here in Brazil all is very complicated... many taxes and fees to buy products from other countries, even without a similar products manufactured here.

Well... some cool pictures... I hope that you like!!!

Best regards,

Alexandre

 :hi: Alex.

Nice set of drawings. What drawing package are you using?

Did anyone ask about your workshop? What lathes and other machines do you have?

Jo

G'day from Australia Alex.

Nice cars, sweet daughter, great view.

My first lathe was a Sherline. It was so old that it had a brass bedway and it cost me $600 (second hand) in 1989. But then it came with vertical milling slide, rocker and normal tool posts, raising blocks, WW collets and chuck, 3 & 4 jaw chucks and a speed controller made from a light dimmer. I still regret selling it. Did you know that it was designed in Australia?
