LED Machine Light

Got my Ikea LED machine lights and decided to make a mount to put it on the mill table. Grandson is doing the work and learning the proper way to layout, punch, spot drill, drill, and tap holes.








You can see that we made a tee-slot piece to hold the lamp, with a knob to fasten it into the slot. I can direct the light exactly on my work. I like this little setup, and total cost for the light was $16.00.

Kudos, to your grandson for having respect for the machines and wearing safety glasses.    He looks quite focused on the task at hand. The end result, a simple yet functional and satisfying piece that will hold your light securely in place. Well done.

That's great, but why doesn't he have his other hand in his pocket? And not sitting on a stool either!

Wish I could keep him around...helped me relocate the lathe, takes out the recycling, smart, 16 years old and size 13 sneaks, knows more about diesel engines than I, wrote a small hardbound book about aerodynamics, lifts the drill press table for me, etc., eats more than I can get in my car, polite, good athlete. Hope he keeps heading into the wind. We are starting on his Elmer's boiler tonight.
