PS. Not making bolts, but making new gib screws for Claudia out of them. Whoever came before me, broke the ears off of 2 of the 1/4-20 gib screws for the table, so I am taking a pair of regular steel bolts, taking the heads off, putting a slot across the end and turning the reveal on the other.

So where did the expression "bolt from the blue" originate then?

Forked lightning that one sees is often referred to as a Lightning Bolt as in "to escape from control." Without the static electricity generated by clouds it's difficult to have lightning so a "Bolt from the Blue," (sky), meant one had angered the gods or in today's terms a sudden unexpected and unwelcome incident in ones day.
