Frazer, Stew, Carl. Thanks for your comments!

Got a little more done........

When I first saw this engine, with it's large flywheel, it reminded me of a hit n miss engine. Which needs a pair of wheels......

I've now chopped rather a lot of ali from the castings.

With red spokes, would this look ok?

Or, are they a little on the large side?

IMHO: I'd polish the rims and paint the spokes.

I keep on looking at Google Images, hit n miss engines. Now I think black spokes with polished rims, is the way to go.

(I think I showed this pic, earlier). The original, repainted and fitted to another engine.......

My main  concern was that a pair this diameter, might look too much. Intending to finish off with alloy pulleys to the outside of the hubs.

Dave. The m/s hot cap, was made from part of Mrs. Drillin's exercise bike. Not stainless.......

David, Frazer, Jo. Thanks for your interest, and input!

Can't remember if you said, but are the flywheels aluminium? Ifso they look just about the right size.  What diameter is the hot cap?  Ian S C

Thanks for your comments, and smiles Fellas!

I've placed it where I can see it, on the shelf above the computer. It has presence, now......

Ian. The flywheels are aluminium. Cast as a heavier rimmed copy of the original. I machined 'em as a much lighter rimmed version.  ;)
The hot cap is 24mm o/d x 23mm bore.

Hope to get the grubscrews in, tomorrow, and give it another run.
