Oh, on the dialog box.  I thought you meant something on my actual computer.
So, what will happen if I click the "toggle view" button?  I don't want to make things worse..  ;)
Dean,
You can always click it again and be back where you were before you clicked it.
The dialogue box will change depending where the mouse pointer is. ie whether the mouse pointer is in the typing area or outside the typing area.
Right click with the mouse pointer outside the typing box you will get one dialogue box with no 'paste or copy'
If you right click with the mouse pointer inside the typing box you will get another different dialogue box with the 'paste and copy'
 :)

Do what my wife does and just click on it, then see what happens.  ;D

Dean,

I had exactly the same problem.

I am just trying to remember exactly what I did to get everything working correctly.

I think, but not definite, I went to my PROFILE setup, in MODIFY profile I selected LOOK AND LAYOUT then unchecked 'Show WYSIWYG editor on post page by default.'

I hope this does it for you, if it doesn't, then reselect it, but mine is definitely unchecked.

John, thanks for that.  At least I know it's not just one old cranky guy in Idaho who's going nuts.
There is company in misery, as they say.  I'll try out your suggestion.

...Just checked that WYSIWYG editor box thing, and it was checked, just like you said.  Unchecked it,
and we'll see how it goes tomorrow when I update my engine build.
Thanks again.  I'll report back.

I do not get the error and can paste without problem

But I am using a different system to 99% of you as a registered dev with apple and have been running the new OS Mountain Lion for a long time along with Safari 6

Hi Dean,

Something else for you to check: If it still refuses to accept your Paste command; can you try opening Notepad & see if that will take the paste? If yes, then something in the forum is to blame; if no, then it's gremlins in your machine I'm afraid...
Cheers,
Ade

Hi Ade;
Thanks for your suggestions.  I tried pasting into my notepad and am able to paste anything I want.  I also opened a bunch of the threads on MM and tried pasting into the reply dialog boxes.  All kinds of text and IMG code, and they
all worked fine.

I think the WYSIWYG box that Bogs mentioned was the problem here, since at the moment I can paste anything I want here with no problem.  If it happens again, I'll let you know.

Thank you all for the help!
