5 cylinder radial with a proper propeller
« on: May 28, 2013, 12:58:05 AM »
Gentlemen,
The radial has finally gained it's dignity back. Gone is the brass flywheel and in it's place is the aluminum propeller that I covered in a separate thread. I got out to the garage late this morning and got everything set up for a trial run. Having previously run the engine with the flywheel I had the needle setting about where they needed to be. The only difference would be the pitch of the prop loading the engine. I have the pitch set to about 6. I started and revved it a couple of times but until I get a little more time on it I just let it run at the setting you see. The oil problem is slowly disappearing so the rings must be seating in a little more. I also think I need to add more timing to the engine so tomorrow I'll experiment with that.

All that needs is a tail dragging airframe, some goggles, and a grin :praise2: :praise2:

Beautiful George,

Bravo George.  Very well executed.  Your hand in the movie gave me a good idea of its size.

Wow.

I do like radials. That one is awesome.
I can't believe the size of it.
