Hi from Germany & I'm out of here ... no THERE!
« on: May 12, 2013, 01:30:48 PM »
Hello!

I'm from Germany. Near Munich to be more precise. I think, almost everyone knows Munich (or at least the Oktoberfest). Well, I do drink beer, but not that much.

Quite some people will know me from my YouTube videos about scraping, I guess. Others from the "other forum". I registered there October 2012, but now I do have enough.

I do have some current projects to show. But I'll post about a few recently finished ones to. I'm quite sure you will enjoy them.
I hope to see many interesting projects here that will be an inspiration for new projects. **ScratchingMyHead** Do I really need new ideas that distract me from current and planned stuff? I'll see!

Nick
PS: Promised postings will take some days, I'm in the middle of updating my long abandoned homepage

Welcome to the shop, Nick. I was just getting into modeling when the crew headed over here. I am glad I came with them. You'll find plenty of interesting and inspiring things here with no trouble. Hey, some of them are even about model engines    Welcome again, and make yourself at home.

Hi Nick and  :hi:.

It is good to see you here also.  Did you finish all the castings for the 1907 MAN diesel engine?  Looking forward to your posts.

Welcome to the forum Nick. Looking forward to your projects.

As it turns out...I'm headed for Munich tomorrow but won't spend any time there until we're on the way back.
Then it's to see the Deutsches Museum, my grandparents graves, and their old apartment where I spent some great childhood summers.

Great fan...I've learned quite a bit about scraping following you.   Welcome!

Glad you made the transition to MEM, Nick, and welcome. I'll be watching for some of your work as am sure quite a few others are as well.

 :hi: Nick,

Yes I know Munich, especially the massive beer garden by the railway station. I hear that at the Oktoberfest they do something called a beer tram  in the UK we do RATs (Real Ale Trains  ;))

Looking forward to seeing your engines and workshop.

Man! That sheds some light on you!  :LickLips:  But should you be nearby, we'll have a beer or two or …

Rats are grey? Right? hahaha.
No, that beer tram is long gone. You still can rent a tram for your party, but no alcohol in it. What a waste! Looks like that went wrong too many times.

A general thanks for the warm welcome!
Yes, the MAN-Diesel will be continued. But during the winter, I could not cast bigger parts. So I started a few side-projects with smaller castings.
Only problems is: They have to be finished before the next winter comes.

Just in case you are a Bayern supporter, congrats on winning the Bundesliga.  Wife and youngest daughter are big supporters.

I have no clue about football and I don't like it. I only know for sure, that each team has 9 players.
